Bendix Awards Grant to the Indiana Dream Center
The Indiana Dream Center (IDC) is excited to announce that it received a $10,000 grant from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems (“Bendix”) to use toward the purchase of a new used box truck!
Bendix, one of the largest employers in Huntington County, designs, develops, and supplies leading-edge active safety technologies, energy management solutions, and air brake charging, and control systems and components under the Bendix® brand name for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, and other commercial vehicles throughout North America.
The IDC was started in 2010 to help individuals recover from life controlling issues. Today the IDC operates a fully functional men’s discipleship home and also provides resources to the local community, outpatient programs, drug testing services, and more.
The box truck will primarily be used to pick up and drop off various items that are sold or donated at the IDC thrift store. The thrift store is an important revenue generator for the IDC and helps support the men’s discipleship program and various other programs. In addition, the box truck will allow the IDC to continue to participate in local food drives and other community outreach programs.
The IDC sincerely appreciates Bendix’s generous grant and looks forward to working with them as a corporate sponsor to support our local community!
